What We’re Looking For:
We focus on works of non-fiction that have a strong cultural impact. We’re particularly interested in:
Cultural Criticism – Thoughtful explorations of current events, societal trends, and cultural movements.
Investigative Journalism – In-depth reporting and analysis of important, under-reported issues.
Counter-Culture Voices – Books that challenge mainstream narratives and offer fresh perspectives.

Submission Process
Query Letter
Start with a brief, compelling query letter. This should include:
- A short introduction to you, the author.
- A description of your manuscript, including its central theme, purpose, and potential impact.
- A brief explanation of why you believe Riot House Publishing is the right fit for your book.
Manuscript
We accept full manuscripts for consideration, but we strongly encourage you to submit at least one polished chapter, along with a summary of the entire manuscript. Please include:
- Your manuscript (preferably in .docx or .pdf format).
- A one-page synopsis of the book that clearly outlines the narrative and key arguments.
- A brief author bio that highlights your background, experience, and any relevant expertise.
Sample Marketing Plan
While we take marketing seriously, we also value your input in the process. Please include a brief outline of your thoughts on how to position and promote your book. Consider your target audience and any potential media or outreach ideas you might have.
What to Expect:
- After submitting, we’ll review your manuscript carefully. Please allow up to 6 weeks for a response.
- If we’re interested in moving forward, we’ll reach out to schedule an initial conversation to discuss the next steps, including editing, design, distribution, and marketing support.
- At Riot House Publishing, we work closely with our authors to develop their manuscripts and ensure that each book is positioned for success. We publish fewer books each year, meaning that if we choose to work with you, you’ll receive the dedicated attention your work deserves.
